Exhibition of contemporary art "3" in Anykščiai
On 19th January at 16 o‘clock an exhibition of contemporary art “3“ opens its doors in Sacral Art Centre (Vilnius str. 11, Anykščiai). Exhibition is dedicated to creative work of three representatives of Lithuanian contemporary art – Indrė Ercmonaitė (1985), Kęstutis Grigaliūnas (1957) and Linas Jusionis (1986). All artworks are presented from the collection of Lewben Art Foundation.
On 19th January at 16 o‘clock an exhibition of contemporary art “3“ opens its doors in Sacral Art Centre (Vilnius str. 11, Anykščiai). Exhibition is dedicated to creative work of three representatives of Lithuanian contemporary art – Indrė Ercmonaitė (1985), Kęstutis Grigaliūnas (1957) and Linas Jusionis (1986). All artworks are presented from the collection of Lewben Art Foundation.
Creative work of Linas Jusionis – the painter of the younger generation is particularly consistent. His works are typically characterised by aesthetics and minimalism, smooth as glass brushstrokes and rationality. Artist never in his paintings depicts people or other signs of life – this encourages the viewer to use imagination, creates imaginary stories.
Deep and multi-layered creative works of Indrė Ercmonaitė invites to stand and view it for a while. Young artist creates technically professional and conceptual canvases. Multi-layering is one of the most significant creative traits of the young painter, allowing to track several pictures in one piece of work, several creation phases of the artwork. In such a way Indrė Ercmonaitė mocks at the shallow approach of the individuals living in the globalized world to the most essential episodes of life.
Creative work of Kęstutis Grigaliūnas – an artist of the previous generation stands out in this exhibition. An artist, who studied in the late Soviet times, in his works attempted to combine graphics and painting. Looking at his canvases from a distance, it is difficult to distinguish whether it is serigraphy or painting. The most common theme of Kęstutis Grigaliūnas’ works is the city of Strasbourg (created while living there), as well as other themes, such as life’s paradoxes, contraposition of sacrality and everyday life, irony or even sarcasm.
The exhibition will run until 18th February 2014.
