What is Google Art Project? It is an online platform with more than 40,000 high-resolution images of works ranging from oil on canvas to sculpture and furniture, contributed by large and small, classic and modern, world-renowned and community-based museums and other cultural institution from over 40 countries. Some paintings are available in ‘gigapixel’ format, allowing a viewer to zoom in at brushstroke level to examine incredible detail. Or, build and share his/ her own virtual art gallery.
