Dr. GoraParasit's performance “Tristan and Isolde" in Berlin
The Lewben Art Foundation became a supporter of Dr. GoraParasit's performance “Tristan and Isolde" in an interdisciplinary music, theater, and performance festival “Berlin is not Bregenz”.
“Berlin is not Bregenz” is an interdisciplinary music, theater, and performance festival that will transform the Plötzensee lido in Berlin-Wedding into a lake stage for Richard Wagner's water operas "Lohengrin" and "Tristan und Isolde" on August 21 and 22.
“Tristan und Isolde / Liebestod”, Dr. GoraParasit's contribution to the festival, is dedicated to the final act of Wagner's monumental opera. With an electronic transcription of the orchestral music by the Berlin DJ Zentralmuster and the two actors Susana AbdulMajid and Ričardas Myka, dramaturg Erik Zielke, and set designer Emilija Paciunaite she creates a live installation that moves between theatre performance and visual art. In her unmistakable stage language she questions the so-called love-death (“Liebestod”), shows the staged nature of death – and lets Tristan appear as the director of his own end of life.
