New artwork by Pedro Reyes entered the Lewben Art Foundation's collection
The Lewben Art Foundation has acquired new artwork by Mexican artist Pedro Reyes – bronze sculpture "Versus Machina". Recently exhibited at the Lisson gallery, artwork will now travel to Lithuania. "Versus Machina", in which a figure impales a robot with a spear, perhaps echoing the pose of St George vanquishing a dragon or antiquity’s dynamic ensemble of Laocoön and his sons, is the fantasy of humanity triumphing over technology.
It's the second work by Pedro Reyes in the Foundation's collection. Another one, "Disarm (Violin IX)" was shown in Vilnius during art fair ArtVilnius'15. Live performance with the violin made from revolvers is available here: https://bit.ly/2AGHpST
