Contemporary art show in Paris celebrates centenary of Franco-Lithuanian ties

An exhibition of contemporary Lithuanian artists will open in Paris on Saturday to mark the 100th anniversary of Lithuanian-French diplomatic relations. The exhibition at the Espace Commines exhibition space includes works by 17 Lithuanian painters, sculptors and photographers. Works by Patricija Jurkšaitytė, Kęstutis Zapkus and Vygantas Paukštė were loaned by the Lewben Art Foundation.

The Paris exhibition has been organized by the Meno Fondas (Art Foundation) foundation of Jonas Garbaravičius and Živilė Garbaravičienė, the Vilnius-based gallery Menų Tiltas (Art Bridge) and the Lithuanian Embassy in France.

The works of Arvydas Ališanka, Ray Bartkus, Stasys Eidrigevičius, Patricija Jurkšaitytė, Vidmantas Jusionis, Rūta Jusionytė, Vytenis Lingys, Indra Marcinkevičienė, Vilmantas Marcinkevičius, Dalia Matulaitė, Vygantas Paukštė, Mykolas Sauka, Šarūnas Sauka, Nomeda Saukienė, Mindaugas Šnipas, Andrius Zakarauskas and Kęstutis Zapkus will be on display until December 14.
