Public talk with art collector Vilius Kavaliauskas at the art fair "Viennacontemporary 2017"
This Thursday, September 21, at 14.00 at Media Lounge at the international art fair viennacontemporary the public talk with Lithuanian art collector Vilius Kavaliauskas as well as the launch of Volume 4 of the magazine “Arterritory Conversations with Collectors” will take place. Arterritory’s public talk will be about currently relevant processes in the Baltic art scene as they pertain to the theme of “The Collector’s Role and Influence in the Region”.
One of the talk’s reference points – as an example of the collector’s responsibility today – will be the genesis of the Lewben Art Foundation collection, which is directly linked to the cognizance of Lithuanian artists in the diaspora, the collection and study of their artworks, and the returning of these works to their homeland.
The moderator of the talk will be Irene M. Gludowacz, M.A., a Vienna-based author, curator, and communications expert for foundations, museums and corporations in the international art world. She has also co-authored the books “A Passion for Art: Art Collectors and Their Houses” (2005) and “Global Art” (2009).
