Tate REEAC trip to the Baltics
This July Tate Russia and Eastern Europe Acquisitions Committee (REEAC) had a trip to the Baltics, during which they visited Vilnius, Lithuania; Riga, Latvia and Tallinn, Estonia. The official Tate program began in Vilnius on 2 July, and concluded in Tallinn on 7 July. Members of the Committee visited museums, foundations, and contemporary art centers; visited artists’ studios and talked to curators. This year’s REEAC Seminar meeting took place on 2 July in Vilnius at the National Gallery of Art.
Chairman of the Board of the Lewben Art Foundation Vilius Kavaliauskas hosted the welcome evening for Committee members in Vilnius which included private view of the exhibition Collecting Hits and welcome dinner.
Vilius Kavaliauskas became a member of the Tate Russian and Eastern European Acquisitions Committee in 2014, a position which, as he says, is a great opportunity to popularize Lithuanian art around the world.
