Exhibition „Lithuanian Art – Destination London“

On the 14 March at D Contemporary art gallery in London (23 Grafton Street, Mayfair, W1S 4EY) exhibition “Lithuanian Art – Destination London” will open. D Contemporary has paired up with "Art Project Lithuania Now" initiators to present a collective exhibition of emerging and talented Lithuanian artists and provide a wonderful opportunity to showcase their work and demonstrate the Lithuanian attitude at a top Mayfair location.

Monika Dirsytė. Performance "I am Your Sun"

10 artists have been selected with art ranging such as painting, sculpture, performance, interior design, photography, textile, graphics and etching also with a performance on site during the exhibition. There are 7 female artists and 3 male artists and over 30 artworks in the exhibition. There will be an art talk during the show with some of the artists being present that will be guided by well-known artist Barry Martin.

Selected artists: Almyra Weigel, Dainius Trumpis, Kristina Sereikaitė, Andrius Miežis, Indra Marcinkevičienė, Monika Dirsytė, Viktorija Staponė, Jūratė Rekevičiūtė, Monika Furmanavičiūtė, Dainius Dirgėla.

Monika Dirsytė will present her performance “I am Your Sun“. It was introduced for the first time in the Jonas Mekas’s Visual Art Centre in Vilnius. Later it was shown at the international contemporary art fair “Art Vilnius’15”, where visitors selected Dirsytė as the best artist in the fair. This fact leaded Dirsytė into the international art scene: performance was presented in “ArtMarket Budapest” and “Burster Gallery” in Berlin.

Daily live performances by Monika Dirsytė will happen during the exhibition dates from 3-6 pm.
